Are you studying Law, Economics, Business, Political studies, History, Psychology or other Social science or Humanities and do you want to increase your knowledge? Do you have a feel for language? And do you like to research? Then, our international team of researchers is looking for you!

The input of researchers keeps the reference works of the Amo Institute educational, meaningful and up-to-date. Researchers can count on great work and a great internship within an ambitious team of academics.

Your work will be determined in consultation with your Head of Research, depending on your preferences. Alongside drafting or editing definitions of certain terms and concepts, main subject of your research will be to look in-depth into related issues, laws, jurisprudence, citations, figures, dates, charts, images, etc..

The work is submitted via an online application. Reasonable filing periods are maintained so that you have enough time to finish your research. You will also be able to consult with your teammates.

Requirements:

  • completed bachelor and knowledge in the field of either Law, Economics, Political study, History, Psychology or other social science or humanities;
  • eagerness to research scientific sources and accurateness in the execution of work;
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language in writing. Mastering either German or French is a plus.
  • Availability for at least three months at least eight hours per week.

At March 31 2023 the new version of amo.institute will be launched. De mensen erachter zijn dezelfde, maar de naam is gewijzigd van Lycaeus naar Amo Institute. Het Amo Institute of Sciences is een onafhankelijke organisatie van studenten en academici die samenwerken met gerenommeerde universiteiten in Europa. Het Amo Institute draagt bij aan gezaghebbende kennis en onderwijs voor alle geïnteresseerden, in het bijzonder studenten, academici en professionals.

05-03-2023 - Prof. dr. Anthonius Guilielmus Amo, Filosoof (ca. 1703 - ca. 1759)

Prof. Amo werd in Ghana geboren en belandde als tiener in Duitsland. Hij studeerde rechten en schreef het proefschrift "De iure Maurorum in Europa" (De rechten van zwarten in Europa). Daarnaast behaalde hij zijn doctoraat in de wijsbegeerte. Prof. Amo was de eerste zwarte hoogleraar in Europa. Naast rechten en filosofie was hij ook onderlegd in fysiologie, politiek, geschiedenis en astronomie. Hij sprak meerdere talen, waaronder Nederlands, Engels, Duits en Engels. Op zijn 44ste keerde Prof. Amo terug naar Ghana. Het Amo Institute of Sciences dankt haar naam aan hem.
